The ORAEYC Governing Board provides mission-based leadership and strategic governance for the association. Serving on the ORAEYC Governing Board is an amazing opportunity for members who are passionate about ORAEYC's vision and mission, deeply committed to its values and beliefs, and skilled leaders with a track record of effective governance experience. 

Meet the Board

ORAEYC is governed by a 9-member Board, with officers and the majority of Board members elected by the membership. Board members serve 2-4 year terms on a staggered basis: terms begin June 1.

About Board Service

While day to day operations are led by ORAEYC's Executive Director, the Board/Executive Director relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. The majority of Council members are elected by the association membership accompanied with a few appointed positions. The Executive Committee is comprised of the Council President, President-Elect or Past President depending on which seat is occupied, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Some of these positions can be co positions. 

Apply for Board Service

Governing Board nominations occur annually. Submissions to apply for Board service require an application, resume, personal statement and references.
